Sixteen years after its inception in Hamburg, with a gathering of only 200 delegates, it is humbling to see the success of the EURETINA congress today, opening its doors to almost 6000 delegates at its 16th meeting. The 2016 congress boasts over 150 modules, presented by the most expert of international speakers across three and a half days of cutting-edge scientific content. These modules comprise keynote lectures, main sessions, international society symposia, instructional courses and surgical skills courses. For this year s meeting we have received a record number of free paper abstracts and as a result of the high quality of these submissions we will be hosting 31 free paper sessions in Copenhagen. As usual, posters and videos can be viewed throughout the duration of the congress at ePoster stations and we will be awarding the prize for best video during the Opening Ceremony at 4pm on Thursday.
